Big Brother 26: Champions League Update #6

Before we kick off, a reminder of who has who:

We pick up with Cedric in the DR as no one spoke in the opening vignette. The 21-year old ex-Marine knows Godzilla is the target and if she goes, his HOH will be squeaky clean.  Makensy thinks Cedric might backdoor her to get rid of her power, but Chelsie doubts it.  Quinn and T’Kor want to start making big moves but he can’t until Godzilla is gone.

Then we find out that Quinn made the mistake of breaking Rules #1: STFU and #4: Know Your Audience.  He told Kimo about the power and, unfortunately for Quinn, Kimo has a crush on Tucker and spills the secret to the chef.

Sorry Leah, you have competition

Tucker thought Lisa had the power (1 point for “Shown on camera in gray” to Jay!) and he knows Quinn is smart. He didn’t believe Godzilla when she told him Quinn had the power but he does now (1 point for “Mention ‘in this game’ to me!).  Kimo swears Tucker to secrecy. I’m not sure how Tucker kept from laughing while he agreed – I couldn’t stop laughing.

We switch over to Kenney and T’Kor as the elder statesman shares how difficult it is for him to be away from his kids (1 point for “Mention ‘in this game’” to Dalphyne!). As a father, I feel bad for him but as a viewer he infuriates me.  He tells Cedric he want to win veto….so he can use it on Godzilla….and get voted out.

(Kenney on the up) I can’t wait to crush this veto!

(Kenney on the down…) But I can’t stand being away from my kids…

(Kenney on the up!) Who I don’t hope to see too soon!

(Kenney on the down…) But it kills me being away from them…

(Kenney on the up) As I want them to see dad compete and win!

Pick a lane, guy!

Cedric needs to win Veto to keep his HOH squeaky clean (1 point for “Say “I need to win << comp name>> to Roberta!). All of this up and down has earned Kenney a new nickname. Henceforth, he shall be known as Yo-Yo.

It’s finally time to pick players for the veto competition, and this time it’s all girls as Makensy and Leah are chosen (1 point each for “Picked for veto via rando draw” to Dalphyne and Ricky!), and (1 point for “Say “I need to win << comp name>> to Dalphyne!). Tucker needs to win because he’s dead set on flushing out the powers now that he knows who has them (1 point for “Say ‘I need to win <<comp name>> to me!).  If he can’t win on his own, HOH Cedric would be fine with Tucker winning so Yo-Yo won’t use the veto on Godzilla.  Let’s put a pin in that thought, k?

At the competition, they must maneuver a bulky, oddly shaped object through a maze without touching the vines, and it’s harder than it looks.  Cedric is all over the vines, as is Godzilla who’s “I’m just going to rush” plan sounds great if she’s planning to throw the comp. Leah wants to become one with the object, but the object doesn’t realize how cute she is.  Meanwhile all Makensy can picture is...

She’ll be there for you... (unless she’s evicted)

Yo-yo struggles but it looks like Tucker, who’s speaking with a bad Australian accent for some unknown reason, is going quickly.  At the reveal, it’s Tucker who finished with the most power left and fastest time. (4 points for “Win veto” to me!).  Now that he’s competed, Yo-Yo feels like he’s back in the game.

Since Tucker won veto, Cedric needs another nom. Tucker tries to convince him to put up Makensy to get rid of her power.  The chef also tells Cedric and Cam about Quinn’s power, which Quinn didn’t share with his so-called alliance mates. So much for Tucker promising not to say anything.

Take note, would be Survivor or Big Brother players.  “I’m going to share this information in hopes of building trust” does not work. The person you’re sharing with will ALWAYS share it – and for the exact same reason!

JUST. SHUT. UP.

Ok, putting my soapbox away.

Talking with Quinn, Cedric gives him many opportunities to come clean, but Quinn won’t do it.  (1 point for “Mention ‘in this game’” to Roberta!).  Since they’re in the Pentagon together, Cedric pushes Makensy to be a pawn, even knowing she has America’s Veto.  It’s obvious to anyone with a working brain cell that she’d use the power, but Cedric thinks he can convince her not to.  Good luck with that.

I’m waiting….

In the HOH room, Tucker pitches a wild plan to Cam, Cedric and Yo-Yo.  If Tucker uses the veto on Godzilla, Cedric can nominate Quinn in her place. It’s the perfect backdoor as the chef is convinced Quinn would beat both Godzilla and Yo-Yo in the AI Arena comp. He only trusts himself to take Quinn out.  Quinn’s completely unsuspecting and if it blows up, Cedric can blame Tucker. Do you think Cedric wishes Yo-Yo had won the veto now? Asking for a friend...

At the veto ceremony, Tucker does indeed use the veto…on Godzilla! (5 points for “Use veto on someone else” to me!) and (3 points for “Someone uses veto on you” to me!). The house is dumbfounded, and by that, I mean they’re literally slack jawed.

We couldn't believe it either, Kimo. And we knew it was coming!

According to my crack research staff, this is only the 6th time in Big Brother history that a veto-winning nominee hasn’t used the veto on themselves.

It's decision time for Cedric, and he chooses to nominate Makensy (3 points for “Nominated for eviction” to Dalphyne!).  She says no hard feelings, but that’s a lie. She’s pissed.  Tucker is seething mad, saying he hopes Cedric and his stupid moves are up next week without immunity and finally tells Makensy she wasn’t supposed to be nominated.

And then she uses America’s Veto. She comes off the block and America will choose her replacement.  “Let the games begin”, says Tucker.  Indeed.

It feels so good to be used!

In their DR sessions, Makensy sees her and Tucker going after Cedric, while Quinn feels safe as he’s the most insulated person in the house (1 point for “Mention ‘in this game’” to Jen!)  and Cedric realizes his squeaky-clean HOH is now dirty.

Tucker’s “Let the games begin” quote kicks off Thursday’s show (2 points for “Speak in opening vignette” to me!) and Godzilla quickly tuns from overdramatic thankful (to the houseguests) to lizard tyrant (in the DR), as she can’t wait for everyone else to squirm.  In her three weeks, she’s won a “lucky” HOH, survived the block by being up against the only person more annoying than her, and been saved with the veto used by ANOTHER NOMINEE.

She’s protected from on-high by the devil himself. (5 points if you get this movie reference! Text me directly!)

We flash back to the night before the veto where Cedric tells Tucker to use it on himself, “I’m still doing it”, Tucker says absolutely ignoring the HOH.  This is the chaos I tune in for!

Post-veto meeting, Tucker is PISSED that he risked everything to expose the powers and Cedric blew the plan up. (1 point for “Mention ‘in this game’” to me!).  In their instant classic, knock-down, drag-out argument, Tucker lies about not being told by Cedric, and Cedric refuses to be enraged by Tucker’s open threats.  I’ll give it to Cedric here – if he’s close to losing his cool, we can’t tell.

Another flashback shows how Cedric changed his mind on backdooring Quinn following a conversation with the Pentagon. For some unknown reason the Pentagon believed Makensy wouldn’t use her power.  Are they high?

Makensy corners Cedric, asking him if she was the plan, because Tucker said she wasn’t and Cedric…

I got nothin'

Cedric calls everyone together, trying to put Tucker on the spot.  Tucker, however, is a crazy, unpredictable bulldozer and without a moment's concern, he sells out Cedric, Quinn and even Kimo. He tells the house about Quinn’s power, that Kimo told him about it and the plan with Cedric.  Quinn FINALLY comes clean (1 point for “Mention ‘in this game’” to Jen!), but still tries to hide when Tucker calls him a great player saying, “Great players never get called out like this”.

THIS IS WHY STFU IS RULE #1

In his DR session, Quinn thinks they’d be idiots to keep him if he’s still on the block and does The Official Apology Tour ™. Leah just wants to continue to slay.  She’s the most Gen Z contestant yet and that distinction requires a nickname.  I’ll open this one up to suggestions. Any thoughts? 2 points to the winner (and it can’t be me!).  They go around the house and while Rubina thinks it’ll be Quinn, everyone else thinks America will nominate them.

Before we find out who America chose, Tucker and Cedric get into another argument about the broken plan that ends with Tucker outright threatening (game-wise) the 21-year-old and telling Chelsie he has the numbers to stay regardless, which she scoffs at (1 point for “Mention ‘in this game’” to Carol!).

At the gathering, Julie announces that Quinn has been named America’s nominee (3 points for “Nominated for Eviction” to Jen!).  Tucker looks bonkers crazy as they go to the AI Arena.

I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY! IT'S BETTER TO BURN OUT! THAN FADE AWAY!

It’s a ball-pit whirlwind and the first person to capture 20 Red balls wins.  Tucker has 5 in a second, and absolutely destroys the AI Arena again, getting to 20 before either Yo-Yo or Quinn has 10 (4 points for “Win special comp” to me!). When it’s announced, Godzilla bursts into tears (1 point for “Shown on camera crying” to me!).

During the awkward plotting moments before speeches and votes, Yo-Yo asks T’Kor to vote him out. Quinn has a great speech ready, insulting Tucker while invoking Americory (5 points for “Reference a previous season’s houseguest” to Jen!)  while Yo-Yo has no idea how to talk (1 point for “Mention ‘in this game’” to Dalphyne!).

At the vote, only Tucker votes to get rid of Quinn, everyone else gives Yo-Yo the release he wanted, and he’s evicted (1 point for “Received vote against” to Jen!), (11 points for “Received vote against” to Dalphyne!), and (-2 points for “Evicted” against Dalphnye!).

Whew.  That as a lot….but what does it mean for us?

Coming into Wednesday, I trailed Jay by three.  After Tucker and Godzilla’s antics, I am now in 1st place by 20 points!  BOOOOYEAH!  LET’S GO BABY!  Jay drops to 2nd, Dalphyne jumps to 3rd thanks to Yo-Yo’s 11 point eviction and Jen jumps to 4th thanks to Quinn’s nomination, which knocks Ricky down to 5th.  6-8 remain the same as Carol, Roberta and Marissa wonder if their players are even in the game.
