Big Brother 26: Champions League Update #10

Before we get started, a reminder of who has whom:

Brooklyn tells us to remember that she’s a bad Texas momma, y’all and pissing her off is a bad idea (2 points for “Speak in opening vignette” to Jen!). Tucker thinks everyone will assume he’s going after Quinn but Brooklyn is his true target as she’s more dangerous and betrayed the 5 Pointz.

In most seasons an initial strong alliance like the Pentagon runs through the game because no one knows they exist until it’s too late.  This year, that didn’t happen.  The second he got power, Tucker nominated three of the remaining four!

As Joseph recounts the Collective to Tucker (1 point for “Shown on camera in gray” to Roberta!), Tucker tells his final two-mate he plans to destroy that alliance.  Coming from anyone else this would be insane, but the sanity of his plan is of no consequence because he can do it.

(That last bit is a movie quote. Think you know the movie? Text me to earn 5 bonus points!)

Quinn still doesn’t believe in Tucker, T’Kor thinks three Pentagon members being on the block is “a good start” and Brooklyn blames “poor gameplay” by T’Kor, Kimo and Joseph for her block plight. Get a grip, lady. You’re the reason you’re on the block.

Tucker tells Cam and Brooklyn he nominated them with Quinn so a smart threat and physical threat could compete with Quinn in Veto. It’s a total lie, but it looks like they buy it.  He then tells Quinn exactly what he told Cam and Brooklyn and reinforces that Tucker will use the veto on him to try and avoid a backdoor in case Quinn wins HOH.  As a bonus, when they inevitably compare notes there are no lies to expose.  I doubt Tucker can avoid the backdoor at this point, but it’s a good game move.

Quinn and Brooklyn do indeed compare notes, and while they both confirm what Tucker said neither has any idea on his true intent.

Brooklyn on the left, Quinn on the right

At this point, I started thinking “How in the world did Godzilla manage to sink under the radar”.  That thought lasted about 10 seconds.  Godzilla was first off the wall and is a have-not. She becomes upset when Brooklyn and others takes the charcuterie board she got during her HOH (1 point for “Shown on camera crying” to me!).

The music informs us that it’s time to pick players for the veto competition and while Makensy is picked randomly, Tucker picks his own chip and chooses Joseph to play (1 point for “picked for Veto via random draw to Dalphyne!), (2 points for “Picked for Veto via houseguest choice” to Roberta!). Psyched to play, Makensy lets us know for the 5th time this season that she REALLY needs to win this comp (1 point for “Say ‘I need to win << comp name>> to Dalphyne!).  So far, she’s 0-4.

Tucker truly wants to use the veto on Quinn, but Brooklyn makes him rethink it by telling the chef how Quinn spilled the beans to her.  Tucker may think Quinn is an idiot, but I’m with Quinn on this one. He has every reason to believe Tucker’s playing him to not compete as hard in the veto.

It’s the Hide and Go Veto comp which Rubina tells us is iconic (1 point for “Say ‘<x> is iconic’” to Marissa!). Cam, Quinn and Brooklyn are all desperate to win (2 points for “Say ‘I need to win <<comp name>> to Jen!), (1 point for “Say ‘I need to win << comp name>> to Carol).  Joseph doesn’t care how iconic it is.  He’s buried under everyone’s radar so he’s throwing it.

Winning is for chumps

“Defense wins championships” Brooklyn says channeling BB20’s Brett as she buries her card in Quinn’s dirty laundry and then covers it with mattresses and other clothes (5 points for “Mention a previous season’s houseguest” to Jen!).  It takes Quinn about 10 seconds to realize his bag is closed and neat as he finds her card.  Good defense wins championships, momma.  Cam finds Quinn’s card, Tucker finds Makensy’s as we flashback to the D1 Volleyball player expressing remorse for making a mess.

Brooklyn, however, shows no remorse tossing T’Kor, Tucker and others clothes all over the place out of spite.  Trying to throw the comp, Joseph can’t believe none of these idiots has found his card. In the end, it’s (who else) Tucker who hid his card the best (4 points for “Win veto” to me!). Brooklyn is less than enthused.

Tucker. Wins. Another. Competition.

Seeing the state of his clothes sours Tucker’s mood as he’s convinced Quinn did it out of spite. Quinn denies it but Tucker doesn’t believe him. A little later Quinn tries a new tactic – radical honesty.  He comes clean to Tucker about the Collective and Pentagon, while still insisting he didn’t touch anyone’s clothes.  Whether Tucker believes him is unclear, but the bigger question is “Will Tucker still use the Veto on Quinn?”. Brooklyn confesses to Chelsie about the clothes. If she’s smart, Chelsie will tell Tucker.   But doesn’t. Take from that what you will.

Tucker kicks off the veto meeting by asking if everyone is comfortably seated because he’s about to make people uncomfortable.  He outs the Collective, naming names.  He outs the Pentagon, naming names and outs Brooklyn and Chelsie as the ring leaders. Forget years, we’ve never seen a player like him EVER. I hope he rides this wave all the way to finale night.

In yet another Veto shocker, he uses the POV on Quinn and takes the opportunity to nominate Chelsie to sit next to the other three Pentagon liars  (5 points for “Someone else used the veto on you” to Jen!), (4 points for “Use the veto on someone else” to me!), and (3 points for “Nominated for eviction” to Carol!).

As we conclude, Tucker is satisfied that he’s poisoned the Pentagon’s well to the point where they can’t trust each other. Quinn will prove his loyalty up until the point he can stab Tucker in the back while Brooklyn can’t believe how badly things go when you go against the person who keeps winning competitions.

So what does this mean for our scores? Jen takes a huge leap into 2nd thanks to Quinn and Brooklyn. She has a way to go to catch me though!  Jay slips to 3rd, Dalphyne remains in 4th while Roberta climbs to 5th. Marissa and Carol finally get some scoring from Rubina and Cam/Chelsie (respectively), while Ricky wonders if we’ll ever see SlayZeeAh do anything productive. Spoiler alert: We won’t.
