Second, 5 bonus points to Marissa for sending me the phrase
“Beautiful idiot”!
We left off on a cliffhanger, but the opening vignette
belongs to Kimo and Quinn (2 points each for “Speak in opening vignette” to
Jay and Jen!). Julie has Covid so it’s
Jerry O’Connell hosting and he gets to finish off our cliffhanger!
Makensy has chosen to use the power of veto….on Godzilla! (3 points for “Use veto on someone else” to Dalphyne!), (5 points for “Someone else used veto on you” to me!).
I legitimately can’t believe this season. If in another year another player came up
with this as a lie, it’d never work. But
because Godzilla is so confidently incorrect, Chelsie breaks Rule
#2: Trust but Verify. I doubt Chelsie would believe Godzilla if she were truly
lying, so the fact that she’s just wrong…makes it work? This moment of unintentional brilliance is so
bizarre.
And so, Chelsie
follows through and nominates Quinn (3 points for “Nominated for Eviction”
to Jen!). Makensy thinks getting
Godzilla out is a wasted week if they can get Quinn instead, which makes Kimo
happy. Chelsie can spin it with the trio
as trying to keep Kimo safe too. It’s a
win for everyone except every rational viewer.
In the immediate aftermath of his nomination, Quinn goes
full super-fan, wanting to be as great as his idols (15 total points for “Mention
a previous season’s houseguest” to Jen [Dr. Will, Dan and Danielle]!).
Chelsie breaks down afterword, questioning what she’s done despite it being a
good game move (1 point for “Shown on camera crying” to Carol!), (1 point
for “Mention ‘in this game’” to Carol!). Cam reminds her that he ratted out
the Pentagon and then continued to act solid as if nothing happened (1 point
each for “Shown on camera in gray” to Jen and Roberta!)
Quinn has SlayZeeAh on his side but he’s wrong to think Cam
and Makensy are with him. He’s broken trust so many times that they’d rather
keep the Trio (Kimo, Rubina, T’Kor) together than trust him. That’s saying something.
SlayZeeAh is upset with Godzilla because the elder threw her
under the bus to Chelsie. Weird how that happened right after she used the veto
on Godzilla, right? 5 bonus points if you message me the phrase she’s a plant.
Tell no one else. Offer good until the
next update is posted. (1 point for “Shown on camera crying” to Ricky!).
Godzilla definitely told Chelsie about the
non-alliance but claims she never said SlayZeeAh founded it, and that her words
were twisted.
The play a game of Marry, Kiss, Evict and the girls all want
to marry Quinn. Chelsie is a good
wingman, and tries to guilt SlayZeeAh into kissing him but she won’t do it.
He asks if it’s because she doesn’t want to or because it’s not a good strategic move. He’s over the moon when she says “probably the 2nd one”. In the DR, she tells us she has a crush on him. I feel like I’m back in high school!
Quinn goes to work and his argument is solid: There’s a trio, they will 100% vote together
and I’ll target them if I’m here.
Chelsie and Makensy are both conflicted.
They THINK they can’t trust Quinn. They KNOW they can’t trust the Trio. The fact that they’re leaning against Quinn
is a mistake of priorities. If Kimo, T’Kor
or Rubina win HOH next week, one or both of Makensy and Chelsie will be nominated. After being saved, Quinn wouldn’t. To me. that’s the math that’s needed.
Last week in his speech, Kimo leaned on representing his
community and because it worked, he does it again. This time, however, Quinn’s speech is passionate
and terrific (10 points in total for “Reference previous season’s houseguest”
to Jen! [Brittney and DJ Showtime]) but he knows like Icarus, he flew too close
to the sun (1 point for “Mention ‘in this game’” to Jen!)
Last week, Makensy made up her mind as the words were coming
out. Not so this week, as she easily
votes out Quinn and he’s evicted by a 4-2 vote becoming the first member of the
Jury (2 points for “Received vote against” to Jay!), (4 points for “Received
vote against” to Jen!), (-2 points for “Evicted” against Jen!), and (2
points for “Jury” to Jen!).
No tears are shed as he leaves, which also says a lot.
So what does this mean for our scores? Jen has one of the biggest weeks ever as Quinn racks up 37 points on his way out the door! This moves her into a 2nd place tie with Marissa who gained 5 bonus points. Jay, Roberta, Dalphyne, Carol and Ricky all keep pace with each other and remain in 4th – 8th. Unfortunately, Jen joins Roberta in the “Hope the show them a lot in Gray” club as both of their contestants are gone.
- Scott 238
- Jen 148
- Marissa 148
- Jay 102
- Roberta 97
- Dalphyne 91
- Carol 78
- Ricky 66
