Second, 5 bonus points to Will, Amy, Morgan, and Slater
for knowing Merida, the red-haired girl who “couldn’t even” was from the movie Brave!
On to the update!
We open with Jimmy joking with Adrian about his love of
bread (2 points for “Speak in the opening vignette” [Jimmy] to Scott and
Will!). Both Lauren and Kelley are upset at Adrian’s ouster, and Kelley’s
upset enough to claim she’d have thrown the BB Blockbuster if she thought he’d
go home. She’s not THAT crazy…right? Vince and Zach voted the other way to prevent
forcing Lauren to break a tie, as Vince thought it’d be easier to mend fences
with Keanu and Rylie than Rachel and Jimmy
(1 point for “Shown on camera crying” [Lauren] to Angela!)
(1 point for “Shown on camera crying” [Kelley] to Melissa!).
The fallout from Vince and Zach flipping has shaken everyone
who wanted to keep Adrian. Kelley, Kelley and Rylie don’t know who to trust,
but they recognize that while they can’t stand Keanu, he hasn’t lied to them.
That’s something, right?
At the HOH comp, they have to hit four buttons while crossing
a balance beam maze as quickly as possible, with outgoing HOH Lauren announcing
new rules each round. The first round is Zach vs. morgan vs. Keanu, and Zach
definitely needs to win
(1 point for “Mention ‘in this game’” [Zach] to Slater!)
(1 point for “Mention ‘I need to win HOH’” [Zach] to
Slater!)
It’s a tight race, but Keanu beats Morgan by under a second.
As the winner, he gets to eliminate four of the losers and chooses Will,
Ashley, Morgan and Mickey. Naturally,
they take a personal affront which is truly tone-deaf. They’d ABSOLUTELY have eliminated him, but
have the nerve to be mad when he eliminates them?
Rachel immediately claims Keanu as her partner in the next
round and will not hear any argument. Will she really throw an HOH competition
just so Keanu will lose? It doesn’t look
like she does, but Rylie’s team was faster and so Keanu is eliminated. Mickey gloats that he showed his cards and
didn’t even win. HE KNOWS YOU WANT HIM
OUT YOU DIMWIT. God, they’re
insufferable.
The final round comes down to Zach vs. Rylie and he DESTROYS
the course, beating the next fastest time by over 5 seconds! (5 points for “Win HOH” [Rylie] to no
one!) which doesn’t sit well with Rachel, who worries who he’ll target (1
point for “Mention ‘in this game’” [Rachel] to Morgan and Aly!)
Rylie wants Mickey, Morgan and Ashley as targets and I’m
here for it!
Unfortunately, Rylie may not be here for it. Thinking Zach is an ally, Keanu breaks Rule
#4: Know your audience telling him that Morgan and Mickey might be
targets. Zach immediately dishes to the
girls, believing Mickey would not nominate him. This is not a bad gameplay
move. Knowing she’s in trouble, Mickey
activates her power and Rylie is PISSED.
Rylie gets to interview each person for three minutes and
then guess who stole his power. If he’s right, he retains his HOH. If not,
Mickey usurps it. Vince and Lauren think
it’s Mickey. Keanu thinks it’s Ashley.
Down in the living room, Katherine is pissed at Ashley’s
smirking at Rylie’s bad day. Unable to pass up the chance at drama, Rachel
jumps in to verbally spar with Katherine but ushers Ashley out of the room
after Katherine embarrasses her. Rachel
is a drama queen but she is too slow for a verbal knife fight.
When Rylie is ready to make his pick, he chooses Ashley.
When Mickey reveals herself as the powerholder, Rylie is pissed saying she lied
to his face. (5 points for “Win HOH” [Mickey]
to Will, Amy, Kat and Slater!).
Wednesday opens with Rachel and Katherine’s spat (2
points each for “Speak in opening vignette” [Rachel] to Morgan and Aly!).
Mickey says she’s sorry to Rylie but she’s fighting for her
life (1 point for “Mention ‘in this game’” [Mickey] to Will, Amy, Kat and
Slater!)
She wants to talk to him, but he’s not interested. Mickey
doesn’t do that, and Rylie explodes on her, saying he takes it personally
because she assumed what he’d do without actually talking to him. This is a
lesson for everyone. When someone’s actively pissed off like this…. walk away
for a while. Let them cool down or expect them to explode.
Mickey does some damage control with Rachel and Dr. No,
saying she didn’t say anything about her power because she didn’t want them to
have to lie. Naturally, she’s targeting
Kelley and Keanu and if Rylie doesn’t calm down, he’ll find himself on the
block. Her attitude really takes a lot of nerve. She dethroned Rylie, wouldn’t give him a
moment to calm down, and now wants him on the block because he’s angry? What a piece of work!
Kelley asks Mickey not to go on the block as it’s her
birthday week, and they agree that if Mickey doesn’t nominate Kelley, and she
wins Veto, she’d do whatever Mickey asked with it. (1 point for “Mention ‘in this game’” [Kelley]
to Melissa!)
In her HOH room, Mickey’s letter brings her to tears as she hashes
out her differences with Rylie. (1 point for “Shown on camera crying” [Mickey]
to Will, Amy, Kat and Slater!). Somehow, she’s twisted her actions against
Rylie to the point where he’s apologizing to her.
Stop me if this sounds familiar: She plans to nominate Keanu, as evicting him will be a huge resume builder.
At the Nomination ceremony, it’s Keanu, Kelley and Rylie who
end up on the block
(3 points for “Nominated for eviction” [Keanu] to Scott,
Amy, Melissa, Morgan and Nickole!)
(3 points for “Nominated for eviction” [Kelley] to
Melissa!)
She claims to need Rylie on the block to beat Keanu in Veto.
Wow, way to show forgiveness – by nominating the person who actually won the
HOH. She then has the nerve to mention Katherine as a replacement nominee
should Rylie win Veto, forcing him to stay on the block or lose his
almost-showmance.
I swear, if someone did all this to her, she’d have a full-tilt diva meltdown while Jimmy, Rachel and Ashley all told her how valid her feelings were.
In an attempt to play both sides, Dr. No gathers Kelley,
Keanu and Vince into an “us against them” alliance. I can’t imagine any of them trusting him. I
don’t think they truly trust each other!
(1 point for “Mention ‘in this game’” [Dr. No] to Scott and Will!)
Kelley and Rachel talk about being on the block every week.
Rachel is fine with seeing Keanu out and thinks Kelley is just the person to
beat him but Kelley hates being the perennial target (1 point for “Shown on
camera crying” [Kelley] to Melissa!).
Somehow, just when I think she can’t get worse, Mickey broke the deal she made with Kelley yet expects
Kelley to honor their deal and not use the Veto if she wins it. Mickey is
insane. This is ridiculous.
It’s Rachel and Morgan who join the cast of Veto players,
and join Mickey in seeing it as 5-1 vs. Keanu
(1 point for “Picked for veto via random draw” [Morgan]
to Blake and Lia!)
(2 points for “Picked for veto via houseguest choice”
[Rachel] to Morgan and Aly!)
At the veto competition, they compete 1-1 in lighting and
memorizing the pattern of only green lights on their walkway. First person to
complete it moves on, with the fastest player earning a bye to the finals.
Keanu quickly sees that mistakes cause panic, which causes more mistakes, so he
goes slowly. He does know this is
a race, right?
(1 point for “Mention ‘in this game’” [Keanu] to Scott,
Amy, Melissa, Morgan and Nickole!).
(1 point for “Mention ‘I need to win Veto’” [Keanu] to
Scott, Amy, Melissa, Morgan and Nickole!).
I guess he does, because he easily eliminates Mickey, Rachel
eliminates Morgan and Rylie eliminates Kelley. Rachel has the fastest time and
earns a bye to the finals! Hey, she’s
finally good at something!
Keanu’s calm approach wins against Rylie, moving him to the
finals against Rachel where he tells us that she needs a life vest, because
he’s going to sink her chances! (1 point for “Say ‘I need to win Veto’”
[Rachel] to Morgan and Aly!)
Vince can’t believe
how slowly Keanu is moving and compares him to Michael Meyers.
Rachel’s combination of excitement and panic leads her to
keep making mistakes as Keanu slowly, implacably, moves forward and he takes
home the Veto! (5 points for “Win
Veto’” [Keanu] to Scott, Amy, Melissa, Morgan and Nickole!).
And there is dead silence.
Crickets. The house is completely stunned, and the silence is
uncomfortable. Keanu reminds Veto host
Ava that she has a prompt, leading her to explode on him. She goes totally
ballistic and basically throws the veto necklace at him. It’s such a wild over
reaction that I wonder if something was edited out.
Later, Ava reminds him that he DID promise to pick off
everyone one-by-one. It’s been weeks and we’re still on that? He breaks down in tears and winds up
apologizing to her. I don’t get this AT
ALL. (1 point for “Shown on camera
crying” [Keanu] to Scott, Amy, Melissa, Morgan and Nickole!)
Rylie petitions insane HOH Mickey to not nominate Katherine,
and she sees the logic in keeping Katherine off the block. Rachel suggests to Mickey, Ashley and Will
that Vince might be a good renomination and the three slobber all over her
genius, despite his popularity. Later Mickey lets Vince know he’s being looked
at, which drives him to tears (1 point for “Shown on camera crying” [Vince]
to Kat, Aly and Angela!), (1 point for “Mention ‘in this game’” [Mickey] to
Will, Amy, Kat and Slater!)
But Vince is not going to sit back and wait for doom. He shares with Mogan, Zach and Mickey that
Jimmy and Keanu are cool now and tells them about the side alliance Jimmy tried
to put together.
Morgan and Mickey have been questioning Dr. No for weeks now.
When Keanu confirms this information, it pushes them over the edge. They feel
he’s actively working against them. Morgan pushes hard for Dr. No as the
nominee due to her closeness with Vince, which should be a red flag for Mickey,
but it isn’t.
Keanu uses the veto on himself at the Veto ceremony and Dr.
No takes his place on the block as Mickey calls out not respecting his game. She’s
REALLY bad at this. (3 points for “Nominated for eviction” [Dr. No] to Scott
and Will!) driving Rachel to tears (1 point for “Shown on camera crying”
[Rachel] to Morgan and Aly!).
In the end, Mickey chose him over Vince to preserve her
relationship with Morgan. I don’t LOVE the reasoning, but I get it. Rachel
thinks it’s a mistake to nominate someone not gunning for you and Jimmy feels
like he has two knives in his back.
That’s the cost of stirring up drama, guy. (1 point for “Say ‘I need to win BB Block
Buster” [Dr. No] to Scott and Will
It’s Ava who opens the show on Eviction Night (2 points
for “Speak in opening vignette” [Ava] to Nickole and Blake!) as we catch
the fallout of Mickey’s ridiculous decision.
(1 point for “Shown on camera crying” [Dr. No] to Scott
and Will!)
(1 point for “Shown on camera crying” [Mickey] to Will,
Amy, Kat and Slater!)
Jimmy is from DC so he’s going to whip the votes, Rachel and
Ashley are both frustrated and thinks Vince is running the game, while Vince,
Zach and Lauren are ecstatic and Rylie is just happy Katherine is safe another
week.
Mickey tries to clear the air with Jimmy, saying she
separated the person from the game. He said his intent was to help the team,
but his actions didn’t always do that.
Side note: What you do is more important than why you do it.
Talking with Will and Ashley, Zach thinks Jimmy is the
target while Ashley thinks it should be Kelley (1 point for “Mention ‘in
this game’” [Zach] to Slater!). Dr. No is mad at Vince for putting him in
this spot (1 point for “Mention ‘in this game’” [Dr. No] to Scott and Will!)
At the BB Block Buster, they have to roll 3 balls through a
maze, landing one ball on specific spaces. First to land all 3 comes off the
block. While watching, Carol noted how
Jimmy and Kelley were studying the board while Rylie was staring off into
space.
It doesn’t matter though, Rylie DEMOLISHES that competition,
winning safety and another week with Katherine! He deserves this.
Rachel heavily advocates for Jimmy, meaning the vote must be
close. In his speech, Jimmy calls upon his ancestors (5 points for “Mention
a previous season’s player” [Dr. No] to Scott and Will!) but has the face
of a Bond villain right before their plans crash down.
At the vote, he is right to be frightened.
Rachel calls out to Brendan (5 points for “Mention a
previous season’s player” [Rachel] to Morgan and Aly!) and Ashley votes for Kelley before trying to
switch her vote to Jimmy. Has that ever
happened before? Julie immediately shut that down though.
The votes are read leading Rachel to tears and Dr. No to the
door
(2 points for “Received vote against” [Kelley] to Melissa!)
(9 points for “Received vote against” [Dr. No] to Scott
and Will!)
(-2 points for “Evicted” [Dr. No] against Scott and Will!)
So, what does that mean for our scores?
House target Keanu was the favorite draft pick this week, as
5 of us decided the Dungeon Master needed to be on our rosters, but it was
Jimmy, aka Dr. No, whose eviction led him to be the week’s top scorer!
1st place Will extends his lead over me to 7
thanks to Mickey taking over Rylie’s HOH. I’d say it’s unfair but it’s my
scoring system! Melissa remains in 3rd
but it’s Morgan who’s the week’s biggest gainer. She can thank Keanu for moving
into 4th! On her way up, she knocks Slater to 5th, Kat to
6th and Aly to 7th. I wonder if she waved as she drove by.
Nickole remains in 8th, but she’s closely trailed by Amy who rode
Keanu and HOH-stealing Mickey out of the cellar. She jumps past Angela, Lia and
new cellar-dweller Blake!
