Survivor 49 - Rules and Scoring

 

The boats have landed, the island is ready and it…is…. TIME! This week, THE CHAOS RETURNS! SURVIVOR IS BACK, and with it, our PretendPoints game!  The season premiere is on Wednesday, September 24^th.  This episode is not scored. Use it to learn the players!

SCORING BEGINS WITH THE OCTOBER 1^st EPISODE

 

How do I participate?

• Pick any two players you want.
• You must choose two (2) different players.
• You can change your players each week to any two players you want, keep one or keep both
• Send me your player choices by text or Facebook message
• Your picks must be received before Survivor airs (generally, Wednesdays at 8 PM Eastern)
• Make sure you get a "Got it" message from me!  If you don't, send it again!
• If you do not choose a player, you will keep your prior week’s players
• If you go more than three (3) weeks without telling me what players you choose, you will stop earning points
• In case Redemption or Exile Island are in play, you can choose someone not on an active tribe as “Return to the game” is a category

Do not send your choices to the group chat! Message me directly!

Notes:

• Weekly updates will be on Saturday or Sunday (depending on how busy I am 😊.)
• Occasionally, Survivor adds twists and turns.  I’ll do my best to fit those into the scoring categories below.  If not, I’ll add them if possible.
• I strongly suggest reading the update. Besides being hysterically funny, I tend to stick bonus points in there that you’ll miss if you don’t!

How do I earn points?

Scoring Categories and points: You earn points based on various events, competitions, phrases, and things they do.  The scoring table is below. Each instance of scoring only counts the first time it happens.  You do not earn points for “Previously on Survivor” or any previously seen scenes (ex: during the end-of-season retrospective). Below are this season’s scoring categories and their points. For you experienced players, I’ve added several new categories:

• Have the two highest scoring Survivors for the week (2 points)
• Have the two lowest scoring Survivors for the week (3 points)
• Have the highest scoring AND lowest scoring Survivors for the week (5 points)
• Shot in the dark failure (2 points)
• Give Shot in the dark to someone else (2 points)
• Give Advantage to someone else (2 points)
• Give Idol to someone else (3 points)
• Someone gives you a Shot in the dark (3 points)
• Someone gives you an Advantage (5 points)
• Someone gives you an Idol (7 points)
