With 7 selections, the season's most quotable player Sage led all choices finally unseating MC and Rizo who were 2nd and 3rd. No one took Jawan, Sophi, Steven or Kristina (again).

Second, no one got the bonus points for knowing that “It’s time to play the game” is the ring entrance music for HHH, Hunter Hearst Helmsley! Check out this ring entrance. Can you even imagine how that feels? If only. Aaaaanyway….

On to the update!

We pick back up following Nate’s blindside. Jawan is now on the top following the biggest, most perfect move of the season. Steven sees the lines solidifying and enjoys watching people (read: Savannah) change when they’re out of power.

Having voted for him, a freaked out Soph tries to mend fences with Steven. She needn’t worry – Rizo and Savannah are well ahead of her in the pecking order and though she’s teaming with them now, she’d cut them if she had to (1 point for “Mention ‘in this game’” [Sophi] to no one!).

MC didn’t need to play her idol, but she needed to feel safe to find out who was on her side.  Jawan took personal offense to her move, saying it shows a lack of trust.  Personally, I think he’s looking for a reason to be mad. Trust is earned, and he hadn’t.  Rizo thinks “better Nate than me” and while he tells Jawan they are fine, Jawan would rather see Rizo in jury than as an ally.

Savannah’s in the minority now, an unfamiliar spot for her, and her attempts at damage control / relationship building fall flat. Maybe if she wasn’t nasty when in power, she wouldn’t feel this way out of it?  Just a thought.

Alex thinks MC is kicking herself for misplaying her idol, but if she is MC doesn’t show it.  Along with Kristina and Steven, he searches in the forest hoping to find a needle in a haystack.  Unfortunately for you Alex owners, he doesn’t.  But Kristina does!  (5 points for “Find hidden immunity idol” [Kristina] to no one!).  The trio agree to keep it a secret. Let’s see how long that lasts.

8 weeks in and we’re already into repeats

Steven and Jawan talk targets and they both want Savannah out. Steven thinks she’s rubbing people the wrong way, and following Rule #6: When Your Enemy Is Making A Mistake, Let Them, he is happy to let her.  Jawan fears her fierceness and just doesn’t want to be next. (1 point for “Mention ‘in this game’” [Jawan] to no one!)

Sage tries to convince Soph to turn on Savannah. Now that Shannon’s gone, Sage needs someone new to hate and Savannah tops the list. She tries to convince Soph to turn on the Mean Girl and Soph mouths the words to Sage, but I doubt she’s truly turned.

Stop trying to make Savannah happen!

Savannah sees Sage claiming to be the victim while holding the knife. That’s an interesting take, given that until this very day, Savannah has been part of the majority for her entire game and while on Uli, actively froze Sage out. (1 point for “Mention ‘in this game’” [Savannah] to Scott and Gloria !)

It’s a Survivor classic at the immunity and reward challenge, as they have to hold themselves up between two walls with only a small perch for their feet.  In a twist, they are randomly split into groups of five.  The winner wins deli sandwiches, chocolate chip cookies and a side order of immunity for their five. They also gain an additional advantage after the fact.  Losers? Tribal council

Note: The winner will get “Win Individual Immunity”, “Win Tribal Reward” and “Obtain Secret Advantage” points. The rest of the winning tribe will receive “Win Tribal Reward” and “Win Tribal Immunity” points.

The tribes are:

Yellow: Steven, Kristina, Alex, Savannah, Soph

Blue: Rizo, MC, Sophie, Jawan, Sage

Everyone gets through the first stage pretty well, and again through the second but Kristina can’t transition to the third and drops (3 points for “First out in a challenge” [Kristina] to no one!).  Alex follows her, followed quickly by Rizo, MC and Steven. On the 4th foothold, Soph drops leaving Savannah to go against Sage and Sophie.  When Sage drops, the showdown begins. Sophie gives it her all, but she can’t outlast a locked in Savannah and she drops meaning (8 points for “Win Individual Immunity” [Savannah] to Scott and Gloria!) and (7 points for “Obtain A Secret Advantage” [Savannah] to Scott and Gloria!)

The winners go back to their camp while the losers head to the old Uli beach (I think. I didn’t write it down and I’m too lazy to go back and look. Don’t @ me!)

At winner beach, Savannah feels like she can breathe again while everyone believes Sophie is in the most danger.  When Savannah goes to treemail to collect her advantage, she doesn’t return. Instead, she gets the Immunity Necklace, a boat to the other tribe, and a vote she can use tonight or bank for later! Wow.

Looking over the breakdown of people at Loser Beach, Sophie sees this isn’t her best day. Along with Sage and Jawan, she concocts a plan to use herself as a decoy with the goal to send Rizo packing with an idol in his pocket.  They just need to sell “May be our best chance to get Sophie, she’s so good at competitions”.

If I’m Rizo, there’s nothing they could say to stop me playing my idol. But it’s not me. And Rizo loves the threat of playing the idol as much as this guy loved his ring

One Idol to rule them all, and on the Island bind them…

Jawan is scared of the move, but he sells it really well. He spends time playing both into Rizo’s wanting to keep the idol and building the fear of Sophie winning comp after comp. (1 point for “Mention ‘in this game’” [Rizo] to Jay, Carol, Iyasah, Dalphyne and Brian!)

Sophie tells MC the plan but adds that she’ll vote for Jawan in case Rizo plays his idol.  This is a gigantic tactical error.  Not “voting for Jawan”. That’s a ploy that makes sense on a bunch of levels. But why announce it?  It’s a secret ballot. Just do it and deny it afterward.

Predictably, MC doesn’t want Jawan to go home and spills the plan to him which shakes him to his core and puts Sophie squarely in Jawan’s sights.  Sage still wants to go for Rizo but without Jawan she doesn’t see the numbers adding up. When word gets back to Sophie that Jawan knows, Sophie realizes she can’t trust MC.

Solid advice, Stone Cold

When Savannah finally arrives, she’s a hot Grim Reaper looking to cause chaos (5 points for “Say The Episode Title” [Savannah] to Scott and Gloria!).  Villain or not, I can get behind that approach!

She tells everyone the treemail story but saves the “bank a vote” bonus for Rizo’s ears only. He thinks it’s Christmas come early and that the dual threats of votes and idols will scare the rest of them into voting someone else.

Takes out his soapbox: IF THIS SOUNDS FAMILIAR IT’S BECAUSE IT IS. Puts away his soapbox

Energized by Savannah’s appearance, Rizo starts looking for targets instead of cover. He sees MC having a wide connection web while Sophie’s is narrow. If he can protect Sophie this week, maybe she’s an ally come morning.  Excellent game play by the ORGer!  He tells Sophie of his plan but despite his truthiness, she takes it with a grain of salt and becomes unsure which way to vote.

MC talks about people being afraid of Rizo’s idol, again, as I start to understand this guy a little better

Even Punxsutawney Phil knows what's up...

As we head to tribal council, it looks like Sophie or MC are the target.

At tribal,  Savannah tells the story of her afternoon, while Sophie remembers yesterday when she was the one who was safe and well fed. Jawan is trying to stay cool, but Savannah’s presence has shaken him.

Rizo wants to get back to working with Uli, but Sage feels that was a lifetime ago. Sophie thinks that tribal lines were breaking down until Savannah showed up and now it’s Uli vs. Hina again, and she’s down the numbers. MC agrees but feels better positioned in the middle.

When Rizo talks about not having to play his idol last time, Jawan says he doesn’t think it’s needed tonight either.  While it cleverly pushes Rizo toward Jawan’s goal of to keep the idol safely in Rizo’s pocket, it’s still the wrong move. MAKE HIM PLAY IT OR SEND HIM HOME WITH A COOL SOUVENIER!

They break into side conversations, which I LOVE  but we can’t understand what’s being said or to whom which I  HATE.  It’s 2025! Get some good mic’s in there!

At the vote, Sophie goes first (3 points for “First Person Chosen To Vote” [Sophie]!) and Savannah chooses to bank her extra vote.

Rizo’s idol stays safely in his pocket as the votes come in. MC voted for Sophie, but everyone else voted for MC. She’s voted out by a 4-1 margin.

(1 point for “Received Vote Against” [Sophie] to Kristyn!)

(4 points for “Received Vote Against” [MC] to Jay, Carol, Roberta, Iyasah, and Marissa!)

(-2 points for “The Tribe Has Spoken” [MC] to Jay, Carol, Roberta, Iyasah, and Marissa!)

(2 points for “Jury Member #2” [MC] to Jay, Carol, Roberta, Iyasah, and Marissa!)

Looks like you will all need to draft someone else next week!

So, what does that mean for our scores?

Coming off a week where she was shut out, Savannah tops the scoreboard with 24 points!  If that isn’t crazy enough, she’s followed by Kristina who drops 14 of her own!  Popular picks struggled to score this week as Sage puts up a goose egg and Rizo joins Jawan in scoring 1.  Dalphyne gets 3 points for having the Low/Low combo of Sage and Rizo while Gloria and yours truly bag 5 each for having Savannah and Sage!

Carol remains in the lead but DON’T LOOK OVER YOUR SHOULDER BECAUSE I’M RIGHT THERE BABY WOOOOOOOO!  With 29 big points, I jump from 4th to 2nd just 4 points off the lead! I had to make a deal with a villain to get there but hey…you do what you have to do to win! I knocked Iyasah into 3rd, and Marissa into 4th.  Gloria would like everyone to know she’s here to play too, exploding out of the basement into 5th!  She knocks Dalphyne into a 6th place tie with Kristyn. Jay is a point behind them in 8th. Brian and Ricky are tied for 9th as Roberta inhabits this week’s cellar.
