Welcome to the first update for Pretend Points Big Brother 26! Before I get started, let me mention that this is a SPOILER FILLED POST! If you don’t want spoilers, click away now. This is your first and last warning.
Ok, as I mentioned in the rules, scoring that took place before Sunday’s show does not count. That means Quinn and Makensy’s upgrades, along with Cedric and Rubina’s downgrades will not be scored. Can’t remember who was drafted by whom? Click here to see the teams!
The scoring season starts with T’Kor, Quinn, Leah and Matt
cheering that they’re in the Big Brother house, (2 points each for “Speak in
Opening Vignette” to Joe and Demi. 4 points to Carol for having both Leah and
Matt!). Angela is really excited to be here – and not the normal
OMG I’M HERE level either. She's like “Just drank 3 cups of coffee and followed
it with a bucket of Red Bulls” excited.
As they sit around the living room introducing themselves,
we learn that Tucker is a chef and Lisa is a narcissistic, look at me try-hard
who interrupts him the moment he says the word chef. We are three
minutes in and between her and Angela, I’ve already got villains to root
against. Finally able to finish his intro, Tucker realizes he has a
lot in common with Old Man Kenny, while Matt and Rubina bond over being
Filipino. Kenny also bonds with Matt over military family/cop stuff,
though the undercover cop doesn’t share his history quite yet.
A look at the last time they will all like each other
In a bedroom, Brooklyn, Makensy, Rubina and Chelsie
talk about how a girl's alliance would help all of their games, (1 point
each for “Mention ‘in this game’” to Viviana, Evan, Theresa and Carol!) but
they fail to solidify the alliance, and openly say how the girls alliance is
always discussed but never happens.
In the shower/bathroom, Angela jokes that Matt is so
good looking he will be in a showmance in short order. Visibly cringing, Matt
tries to shy away but Angela keeps going. Matt is not happy about this at all and she's blind to it. (1 point for “Mention ‘in this
game’” to Brian!).
In the kitchen, Lisa makes sure everyone knows she’s a
chef and adds edible glitter to….everyone’s food and then to Matt, Cam and
Tucker’s bodies. It’s a good thing I wasn’t in the house for this. I hate
glitter. There’s a decent chance I’d have made her cry.
The group discusses who won the upgrade powers. Lisa,
Leah and Brooklyn can’t wait to use someone else’s power to their
advantage. (1 point for “Mention ‘in this game’” to Demi!). We
find out that Makensy has won America’s Veto – she can use a veto at any time
in the next four (4) weeks, and America will choose the replacement nominee
Quinn has won the Deepfake HOH where he can strip the
HOH of all power, control the nominations and even make videos as the HOH
saying anything he wants it to say. Ok, that’s cool.
AI Ainsley calls everyone together to tell the
houseguests the HOH will have to nominate three (3) people each week, and all
three will play in an AI competition just before the vote with the winner
coming off the block. Everyone thinks it’s insane which helped me realized
Ainsley's true alter ego:
I'm here for it, Ainsley!
At the HOH comp, Rubina and Cedric can’t play due to downgrades. The remaining 14 houseguests must break into teams three, leaving Tucker and Makensy out. They don’t even get to compete - sorry Brian and Teresa! Rolling a disc along a virtual board, the highest team score gets to eliminate another team, Kimo, Rubina and Brooklyn are quickly eliminated in Round 2. In Round 3, Kenny, Leah and Angela advance leading Leah to cry at the idea of winning HOH (1 point for “Shown on camera crying” to Carol!). Unfortunately for her, tears don’t get the job done as it’s OMGOMGANGELA who takes home the win. (5 points for “Win HOH” to Brian!), bringing joy to….no one but her and Brian😉.
Kenny and Tucker don’t know where they stand with
Angela, but she is good with her roommates Joseph, Cedric, T’Kor and
Chelsie. It’s a diverse group and the video store clerk is all for
it. (1 point for “Mention ‘in this game’” to Evan!). Matt
breaks Rule
#4: Know Your Audience, openly telling Lisa, Kenny and Joseph about how
Angela will put him up. Joseph immediately sprints to the HOH room so he can
squeal.
Unsure who to put up, Angela does interviews and it’s
Quinn who gets the most out of it. He shares that he won the Deepfake HOH,
which would normally break Rule
#1: STFU, but it absolutely builds trust with Angela. Not only
do they make a final-two deal, but they cement it with a formal alliance
name! (1 point for “Mention ‘in this game’” to Demi!), (3 points each
for “Make a final two deal” to Brian and Demi) and (3 points
for “Come up with a formal alliance name” to Brian for BB Guns!). The
rest of the interviews have one common theme:
Apparently she annoys the houseguests as much as she annoys us!
The true fun begins when Matt comes up. Angela apologizes to Matt for the misunderstanding and going too far about showmances, saying it wasn’t gameplay. I believe Matt bought it, but he very openly threatens her saying if he’s nominated, he will have two chances to come off the block and if – by some miracle – he doesn’t, the house likes him anyway and he will come after her. She is seriously taken aback by this aggression and I love it!
At the nomination ceremony, Matt’s aggression paid off as he
avoids the block. Lisa, Kimo and Kenny are not so lucky as all three are
nominated for first boot. (3 points each for Demi, Tessa and Teresa!), and (1
point for “Shown on camera crying” to Brian!) for Angela’s
episode-ending tears. All three will compete in the Veto and the AI
competition, so who knows who'll be on the block come eviction night?
I feel like there are several explosive personalities in the
house and the fuse has been lit. Let’s hope it’s an crazy season!
On the strength of Angela’s HOH win, forming a final two and
naming an alliance, Brian jumps out to a quick lead, with Demi close behind. This
early on, the few points separating everyone else can be made up with a veto
win, a special comp win or even some open crying! Check out the standings in
the current scores:
- Brian 13
- Demi 10
- Carol 5
- Teresa 4
- Tessa 3
- Viviana 3
- Evan 2
- Joe 2
