Second, 10 bonus points to Iyasah for knowing that it’s Chris Pratt’s Andy (5 points) who regularly calls new band names on Parks and Recreation (5 points)!
We pick up with Rachel returning alone to a pitch-dark camp
following her Safety Without Power shocker. After everyone returns, Sol tells her it was
him, but doesn’t tell the group about his move, hoping to enlist Rachel to his
side. That’s a good way to do it! (1
point for “Mention ‘in this game’” [Rachel] to no one!). Sam also sees her as a number in the brewing
Gata/Lavo vs. Tuku war.
Caroline brings everyone into the woods where they find a
table with bowls for each of them on it.
It’s time for the Survivor auction! Money’s out there in the forest…GO
GET IT! Genevieve hates running so she
repeats the things she wants to eat.
Chocolate…. Chocolate….If Carol played Survivor, this would be her…except
for the running part. Sierra racks up a huge amount while Andy, of course,
walks past more than a few and enters the auction with no money!
At the auction, whoever has the most money left over loses
their vote and the auction will end at a random time. No stress at all! Strategy be damned, they
want food! Chips and soda to Sol…mac and
cheese to Teeny….salsa, guac to Sierra…chicken wings to Kyle…apple pie to Sol…a
cheeseburger and fries…and a little extra present to Rachel.
Yes! Hidden amongst her fries, Rachel finds and stealthily
hides a wrapped-up piece of paper. (5
points for “Find a clue to a hidden immunity idol” [Rachel] to no one!). That’s right…the day after being saved by
a miracle Rachel now has a clue to an idol! The auction continues and ends with
Sam having the most money, meaning he’s lost his vote.
Back at camp, Rachel thinks finding the idol would make her
the game’s most powerful player, while Sam’s partner Sierra sees his vote loss
as scary (1 point for “Mention ‘in this game’” [Sierra] to no one!). Wanting to knock off Tuku, she begins
gathering numbers and targeting Kyle.
Genevieve sees Rachel as a threat, which is music to Caroline and Sue’s
ears.
While they all sit in the camp, Rachel stealthily cuts a
rope on their shelter to release her idol and somehow no one is the wiser. Seriously, WTF? She hacked at it with a machete for God’s
sake! (5 points for “Find hidden
immunity idol” [Rachel] to no one!)
At the immunity challenge, they must hold a handle hooked to
a bucket containing 25% of their pre-game body weight. Last man AND last woman left both win
individual immunity! Pre-challenge
favorite Sam quickly drops (3 points for “First out in a challenge” [Sam] to
Roberta!). It’s really no one’s
night tonight! Genevieve, Teeny, Sierra
and Gabe follow. When Caroline drops, it
leaves Sue and Rachel in a showdown for immunity. Soon after, Sol drops, leaving Kyle and Andy to
face-off.
In the end, Rachel and Andy can’t hold on, meaning Sue and Kyle
win individual immunity. (8 points
for “Win individual immunity” [Sue], [Kyle] to Sheila and Lia!). This is Kyle’s 3rd straight individual
immunity win, but Sue’s first and she’s rightfully proud of it (1 point for “Mention
‘in this game’” [Sue] to Sheila!)
Back at camp, Kyle knows he’s now at the “Win or go home”
stage. As Tuku’s Sue and Kyle are safe, Sierra, Teeny Sam and Rachel target
Gabe. Sierra, seeing Andy as a
non-threatening easy number on their side, tells him to vote Gabe. She’s not worried about him, and that’s a
mistake.
Having treated him like a 3rd wheel one-too-many
times, Andy flips on Sierra and Sam bringing in Tuku who all see Sierra as the
Gata Queen. Genevieve and Sol are torn between
siding with Gata or with Tuku, while Teeny truly wants to work with Sierra (1
point for “Mention ‘in this game’” [Teeny] to Angela!). She tries to push
Sam, but Genevieve, Caroline and Sue think they should go after Rachel because
if Sam/Sierra have an idol they won’t play it on her. Why would they think Sam/Sierra would have an
idol but don’t think Rachel might? That’s a blind spot.
At tribal, Gabe thinks the war is coming but Andy’s already
at war thanks to the votes he got last time out. Teeny sees everyone as
friends, but they’re not playing a game of friends. This is Survivor! Kyle sees his repeated individual immunity
wins as great and costly, as each win makes him a bigger target. Caroline sees
being targeted as a compliment.
How many people are uncomfortable, thinking you’re on the
wrong side of the vote. Every hand goes
up. A fidgety Rachel reaches into her bag, and Caroline sees it. But she doesn’t
play her idol. She played her shot in the dark and she is…. not safe. (3 points for “Play shot in the dark”
[Rachel] to no one!).
At the vote, Gabe gets one while Sam and Sierra are tied at
4-apiece. It’s time for a revote, and
only Sam and Sierra can be targeted. Normally they both couldn’t vote but because
Sam lost his vote, Sierra gets to vote. (1 point for “Received vote against”
[Gabe] to Iyasah!), (4 points each for “Received vote against” [Sam], [Sierra]
to Roberta and no one!).
At the revote, Andy acknowledges that he’s doing Sierra dirty
but he’s a dirty player. Yes. Yes! Lean
into it! The votes are read, and Sierra
is voted out 5-1 becoming the first member of the jury. (1 point for “Received
vote against” [Sam] to Roberta), (5 points for “Received vote against” [Sierra]
to no one!), (-2 points for “The Tribe Has Spoken” [Sierra] against no one!), and
(2 points for “Jury member” [Sierra] to no one!)
For the 2nd time in three weeks, Andy’s evil plan has worked.
So, what does that mean for our scores? I’ll tell you what it means: Lifelines are kicking the crap out of everyone! Lifeline Rachel scored 14 points this week, while Lifeline Sierra picked up 11 on her way out the door!
In the game, 2nd place Lia picks up 9 thanks to Kyle’s immunity challenge win, dropping Leader Angela’s lead to 42. That sounds like a lot, but it’s not! 3rd place Roberta picks up 8 more and is only 2 behind Lia. Carol and Dylan hold serve, remaining in 4th and 5th but everyone else gained on them this week. 6th place Iyasah’s Parks and Recreation knowledge help her leapfrog 7th place Sheila by a single point. Brian may be in 8th, but he's only 12 points from 4th!
